Nisha Sharma, MD

Nisha Sharma is the Medical Director for Sharma Family Medicine for both the locations (Irving and Hamburg). She has been working in these practices for over 13 years now.

Sharma has a very bright education history right from her schooldays wherein she always was a gold medalist till she graduated out of Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi, India. She earned her medical degree at J.N.M.C in India and pursued further studies toward her Master's degree in Public Health at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA.

She did her internship at Mercy Health Partners at Toledo, Ohio following which she did her Family Medicine training at SUNY-Buffalo where she also received additional training in Sports Medicine.

Sharma is currently board certified in Family Medicine, and is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a member of the Canadian College of Family Physicians, and a member of the Erie County Medical Society. She also received the award for the “Most Compassionate Doctor of the year” in 2010.

Mandy L. Abram, PA

Mandy L. Abram has taken over the position of Physician Assistant in Sharma Family Medicine since April 2017.

She has completed her Bachelor of Science in Health Science/Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Daemen College, Amherst, NY- Summa Cum Laude in May 2011.

Before joining Sharma Family Medicine she was with Highgate Medical Group, Williamsville, NY from July 2012 till now.

As Physician Assistant she can Diagnose and treat patients with multiple medical problems in the field of primary care. Perform minor surgical procedures such as wart treatments, skin tag removal, etc. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-Rays, EKGs, and labs.

Amy Peterson, PA

Amy Peterson is a new physician assistant at Sharma Family Medicine. She graduated from D'Youville College with a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant. She joined the practice in December 2017. Prior to becoming a PA, she has 10 years experience in customer service. She has a high interest in Family Medicine, and enjoys working with and helping others.

As a physician assistant, Amy is trained to take a patient's history, perform a full physical exam, diagnose and treat. She is also trained in joint injections, I&D procedures, suturing, ect. She is able to order and interpret diagnostic imaging and labs.
